Kristin Juszczyk Super Bowl Vest Bid Skyrockets

Designer Kristin Juszczyk has announced the launch of her first NFL-related item available to the public, a Super Bowl LVIII Puffer Vest that, at the time of writing, is currently live for auction—and bids are skyrocketing.

Kristin Juszczyk, the wife of San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk, was recently granted a licensing deal with the NFL, the league confirmed to Newsweek in an email January. This allows her to use team logos in her designs.

The news came in the wake of a viral moment when Taylor Swift wore a jacket the designer had made to the Kansas City Chiefs win over the Miami Dolphins on January 13. The pop superstar arrived at the game in a puffer jacket made out of one of Travis Kelce‘s old jerseys. Not only had Kristin Juszczyk designed the jacket for Swift, but she also designed one for Brittany Mahomes to support her husband, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Now ahead of the Super Bowl Sunday, where the Chiefs will face the 49ers in Las Vegas, an officially licensed NFL Super Bowl puffer vest designed and hand-sewn by Kristin Juszczyk has gone to auction.

Newsweek contacted Kristin Juszczyk for comment via her website Friday.

Having gone live on February 8 the auction will end on February 10, the day before the big game. At the time of writing the puffer had 83 bids, with a current top bid of $32,600. All proceeds will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.

The vest was designed to commemorate the big game between the 49ers and the Chiefs in Las Vegas and features the game’s designated color palette. It has the number 58 on the front and back in block lettering with splashes of red and purple, marking the edition of this week’s Super Bowl.

The puffer bears the Super Bowl LVIII badge on the left corner of the chest and has the two teams’ names and the date of the game embroidered onto the bottom right corner. The back of the design also says the word “Super Bowl” in bright red block lettering with a purple trim.

Kristin Juszczyk shared a video of the puffer to her Instagram account and celebrities have taken to the comment section to express how impressed they are by her skill, including her husband.

“First of many! So proud of you!” Kyle Juszczyk wrote.

“OMGGGGGGGGG!!!! You did that!!” commented Olivia Culpo, who is engaged to Christian McCaffrey, the running back for the 49ers.

“Your mom is so so proud of you right now!!! We all are,” said comedian Claudia Oshry.

“From one crafter/designer/ entrepreneur to another best wishes with this new and smart venture! You saw a void , a huge void, and filled it!!!!!! I am a huge fan!!!! Go for it !!!!” Martha Stewart wrote.

For a long time, the fashion designer had been uploading photos and videos to social media about how she repurposes jerseys and regularly makes bespoke outfits for herself to wear to her husband’s games.

Before long, she branched out to make pieces for sports stars and other celebrities, such as Olympian Simone Biles, actor Taylor Lautner and 49ers star Deebo Samuel. She called creating jackets for Swift and Brittany Mahomes an “honor of a lifetime”—and it looks like Sunday could be another big day for her as well.

In an interview with Sportico on Tuesday, Kyle Juszczyk said his wife has surprise apparel that will be unveiled at the Super Bowl.

“But if I told you [what it is], I’d have to kill you,” he joked during a team interview session. “It will be revealed on Sunday.”
