Rattler’s slide is surprising, as he was given a third-round grade from B/R NFL Scout Derrik Klassen in his scouting report of the 23-year-old.

“Overall, Rattler’s arm is too enticing to pass up for too long,” Klassen wrote. “There are only a handful of players who throw with his flexibility and arm strength and accuracy. Rattler has the aggressive mindset to be a difference maker, too.”

In 12 games with the Gamecocks during the 2023 season, Rattler completed 68.9 percent of his throws for 3,186 yards. He recorded 19 touchdown passes compared to eight interceptions, finding the end zone four more times on the ground.

These three teams could attempt to target Rattler on Saturday:

On Wednesday, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that Rattler “could very much be in play for the Raiders down the board.” Las Vegas selected Georgia tight end Brock Bowers with the No. 13 overall pick, although the team still doesn’t have a clear-cut starter.

Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew are expected to compete for the Raiders’ starting quarterback job in 2024, although Rattler may have more upside as he’s younger than both players. General manager Tom Telesco could be intrigued by his potential after his team narrowly missed out on the run of quarterbacks to open the draft.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz revealed that Rattler visited with the Giants prior to the draft. With New York picking LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers with the No. 5 selection, the team could be interested in adding the former South Carolina passer as a backup behind Daniel Jones.

While Drew Lock and Tommy DeVito are both serviceable reserves, head coach Brian Daboll might want a second-string quarterback with the throwing velocity that Rattler possesses.

Schultz also reported that the Seahawks hosted Rattler on a visit, as Seattle could be a possible destination. While Geno Smith is firmly entrenched as the team’s 2024 starter, Rattler could look to beat out Sam Howell and earn a backup role as a rookie.

With Smith turning 34 years old in the middle of the 2024 season, Rattler may sit behind the veteran for a few years before eventually taking over the starting job.
