Lamborghini CEO says the Lanzador is the perfect link between Urus and the brand’s super sports cars.
Production version of the 2-seater high-riding electric Ultra GT will be officially presented in 2028.
Italian sports car brand, Automobili Lamborghini has unveiled the Lanzador concept at Monterey Car Week, a 2-seater high-riding SUV that previews a purely-electric production vehicle that Lamborghini will present in 2028.
According to Lamborghini, the fourth model concept, dubbed an Ultra GT, stands for design, performance and the answer to the question of where the brand is heading in the future.
“For us, the fourth model is the absolutely logical extension of the existing portfolio – the perfect link between Urus and our super sports cars,” says Stephan Winkelmann, the CEO of Automobili Lamborghini.
Painted in a fresh and modern color named Azzurro Abissale, the futuristic concept car has a slim headlights that take inspiration from the Countach LPI 800-4. Its hexagonal-shaped taillights include the characterful light signature with three LED elements on each side.
Inside, the fighter-jet-Inspired cabin features 2 2 seating, where the “pilot and co-pilot” sits in a frame-like bucket seat insulated with 3D-printed foam,while the rear seats can be folded down to accommodate luggage.
The reveal comes few months after Lamborghini debuted its first High-Performance Electrified Vehicle, the plug-in hybrid V12-powered Revuelto.
Lamborghini, which plans to electrify its entire product range by the end of 2024, is investing more than 1.9 billion euros ($2 billion) over four years for the conversion to hybrid technology.
“Lamborghini’s electrification plan is a change of course made inevitable by a radically changed context. We want to make our contribution with it and reduce our environmental impact more and more through concrete projects,” said Stephan Winkelmann at the launch.
Lamborghini is still mute on the specifications and pricing since it is still 5 years away, but the Lanzador may arrive with a price tag north of $300,000 since the plug-in hybrid V12-powered Revuelto starts at $550,000.
