In a highly-anticipated rematch of an NFC Championship game mired in controversy, the Los Angeles Rams demoralized the visiting New Orleans Saints by a score of 27-9 in a game defined by injuries.

Far worse than any tally in the Saints’ loss column is the loss of Drew Brees to an injured thumb. But while the Saints played without its star quarterback for the majority of the game, the Rams got a brief taste of the injury bug themselves.

Head coach Sean McVay summoned Second-year guard Jamil Demby to play right guard after Austin Blythe suffered a lower left ankle sprain during the Rams’ fourth offensive series. The team was also forced to go without its usual two-tight end rotation when Tyler Higbee left the game with what was originally deemed a chest injury but turned out to be a lung bruise. Gerald Everett played the rest of the game at tight end as the Rams adjusted to strictly operating in 11 personnel (1 RB, 1 TE, 3 WR) offensively.

The snap counts from Week 2 are below and we’ll analyze them here, beginning with the offense.
