O que Tua pensa da conversa do 'Tank for Tua' – AL.com

Translating…

Posted Oct 14, 2019

Every few years a catchy saying hooks the pre-draft conversation over who’ll get the No. 1 pick.

Four years ago, there was a push to “suck for the Duck” when Marcus Mariota was looking like a top prospect at Oregon.

That rhymed. “Tank for Tua” relies more on the alliteration for the fun factor but after the Miami Dolphins lost 17-16 to Washington, the race to the bottom has a new front runner.

Meanwhile, in Tuscaloosa, the quarterback at the center of that No. 1 pick chattersaid he isn’t getting too caught up in it.

“Not too conscious of it,” Tagovailoa said Monday. “I hear it here and there, but…”

… But is it flattering?

“It’s flattering, but we have a season to worry about now,” Tagovailoa said. “Everyone is saying ‘Tank for Tua’ now, but if we end up losing the rest of the season, all our games, they won’t be there saying it then. We just have to worry about what’s in front of us now, worry about the games we have to deal with now.”

No. 1 Alabama (6-0, 3-0 SEC) faces Tennessee at 8 p.m. CT Saturday in Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Tagovailoa has been a consistent pick at the top of mock drafts for the 2020 cycle with the assumption the junior will leave Alabama early for the NFL.

There are two winless teams after six weeks of the NFL season including the Miami Dolphins and Cincinnati Bengals. The Atlanta Falcons and Washington have one win apiece.

Tagovailoa leads the nation with 27 touchdown passes with a top-3 passer rating and yardage average after six games.
